In February 2005 BBS bought ZebSign AS, from Telenor ASa and Posten Norway , which has started ZebSign  as a Joint Vernture in 2001.  BBS’s purpose of buying ZebSign is to achieve reduced cost for vendors of electronic ID-services based on PKI-technology, and in that way contribute to increase distribution and use of solutions within electronic commerce both in Norway and the Nordic region. 

Together with BBS, ZebSign is a part of the largest PKI-environment in the Nordic region. ZebSign’s objective is to establish an open security infrastructure based on electronic ID services. 

Our customers are mainly corporate market and ZebSign is selling its products and services through qualified sales channels. ZebSign issues electronic ID's - certificates according to the norwegian "Kravspesifikasjon for PKI i offentlig sektor" and national law, this including qualified electronic certificates according to EU-directive.
